This weekend I went on a retreat with my youth
group, it was really fun! We learned about Moses before he was this great
leader, we read about Moses when God was refining him and breaking him down to
prepare him for the journey ahead of him.
I LOVE the burning bush! It is such an amazing example of what God wants us to
do in times of trouble. So Moses is chillin just walking around and he
sees this bush. This is a normal bush…but it’s on fire and it’s not
burning. This bush is being attacked, its being engulfed by flames yet it
is not destroyed. Because God is in it. In the same sense we has
followers of Christ may feel attacked by the worlds hardships, our hearts may
feel let down or broken by things that go on in our lives but we will not be
destroyed. Because we have God in us. THAT IS SO COOL!
Later on in the passage after Moses has
approached the bush and is TALKING to God, he is asked to do a very big and
courageous task for God. He asks him to go up against the ruler of Egypt and tell
him that God want His people to be freed. Moses is a little concerned as you
can imagine and God says the greatest 5 words ever! “I will be with
you.” That’s it. When I read that it hit me right in the
heart. God is with me, that should be enough to give me the courage to do
anything. I have no excuse because God is with me! What an honor! The
creator of the world is with me and He’s with you. He’s got our back! HOLLA!
